The costumes of Rudolf Nureyev for Chance magazine at Centre National du Costume de Scène, Opéra de Paris

Last Fall Fitz Patton and I ventured on a trip to a town, right in the middle of France named Moulins,

to photograph the then current show of the costumes and sets of Rudolf Nureyev at Centre National du Costume de Scène, part of Opéra de Paris.

What was new in this exhibit was that the forms were made based on the real body of Nureyev. We arrived and heavily

jet lagged worked relentlessly all day until 5, when the museum staff would get off work and our activities centered onto

the wonders of French cuisine and wine. We stayed at the cheapest hotel and ate at the best restaurant. We spent three wonderful days there,

here is the story that came out of it, I hope you enjoy it. And it happened with the indispensable help of Camille Assaf  and the

museum’s incredible Directrice Delphine Pinasa. Thank you!
